J
ust 4 kms of Tavira stands the intimate Quinta da Lua, a small, bed &
breakfast set in a delightful oasis surrounded by orange trees, carobs,
lavenders, bouganvillaeas, oleanders and palms.

The house is a two-storey addition to an old Algarve farmhouse, following the same traditional style of the orignal building. Miguel and Vimal have stacks of enthusiasm for looking after people, and staying at their 'farm of the moon' is
delightful on many levels.

A
s Tavira is so close, getting to the nearest beaches, golf courses or
restaurants is not a problem from the quinta and for those wishing to
travel further afield, access to roads leading into the rest of Algarve
equally easy, making Quinta da Lua an excellent base. Quinta da Lua's own
grounds have been cleverly designed to create a series of separate little
gardens, allowing guests to wander off to choose their own, personal spot,
either in the sun or in one of more shady areas, where they can relax on
their own, if they require. There is a lovely ecological saltwater pool
with shaded verandas to the side.

I
nside, you find a successful blend of modern an traditional decor, of rough terracotta floor tiles and beamed ceilings. The spacious bedrooms are comfortable, tasteful, colour-co-ordinated and all different. Each
room has air-condition, CD-player, safe, central heating and its own private bath or shower room with hairdryer.

Breakfast is served in the breakfast room or out on the wooden terrace in front of the house. Dinners are also provided on occasion and guests will be informed at breakfast if they are available. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
